Purpose:

This post is important and in line with ZOA Ethiopia strategic plan particularly Emergency WASH , food security and livelihood and Desert Locust response  interventions. In addition to this the post will help ZOA Ethiopia to implement Emergency desert locust , WASH , food security and livelihood activities including cash and In kinds items distribution and capacity building  activities that focused on Desert Locust Impacted communities of the Babile, East Harerghe Zone, Oromia region.

Typical Responsibilities - Key end results of  the position:

  • Review and compare transportation costs from different vendors
  • Manage vehicle movement arrangement
  • Receive and process warehouse stock products (pick, unload, label, store)
  • Perform inventory controls and keep quality standards high for audits
  • Collect and send invoices to appropriate department which includes country office logistics department
  • Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimise space utilisation
  • Assist peers as required (coordinate meetings, training, etc.)
  • Update HR databases share to the country office (e.g. new hires, separations, vacation and sick leaves)
  • Process employees’ requests and provide relevant information 
  • Collaborate with the Recruiter to post job ads on careers pages and process incoming resumes
  • Provide orientations for new employees by sharing on boarding packages and explaining ZOA's policies
  • Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers
  • Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules and regulations of ZOA
  • Obtain RFQ’s and submit to proper department
  • Responsible for organization of property maintenance
  • Send procurement and HR reports on time
  • Provide general support to visitors

Dealing with Problems:

  • The incumbent should have a small or medium degree of problem analysis for internal environment in order to propose viable solution which is in line with the organizational rules and regulations

Communications and Working Relationships:

  • Internally: strong working relationship with the Finance, Program and Support staffs at the field office and with frequent communication with the Log and HR department
  • Externally: strong working relationship with the external business partners

Job Requirements

Educational Qualification and Experience

  • Diploma/Degree in Logistics/Supplies Management,  Business management/Administration and/or related fields
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in  similar post
  • Proficiency in inventory software, as well as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Strong organizational skills
