Tourism Ethiopia is a government organization tasked with the development of Ethiopia’s tourist destinations, market and promotes destinations at national and international level through employing competitive marketing and promotional strategies to open new tourism opportunities, generate jobs and revenue for Ethiopia.

Tourism Ethiopia has crafted MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Events and Exhibitions) Tourism Strategy, with the support of the World Bank Group /International Financial Corporation (WB / IFC), to support Ethiopia’s MICE sector. The strategy document signifies Ethiopia as a convenient and appealing destination for organizing international meetings, conferences and events. In this regard, to lead the sector in an integrated manner, National Tourism Convention Bureau has been established. To support this first National Tourism Convention Bureau, Tourism Ethiopia is collaborating and working with international team of consultants and advisors, to learn and develop Ethiopia’s MICE sector.

Therefore, as part of the National Tourism Convention Bureau formation. Tourism Ethiopia would like to invite qualified applicants to apply for MICE Tourism Business Development Expert III vacant position.

Description of duties and responsibilities

• Source and develop MICE businesses for Ethiopia
• Develop existing MICE market and work towards improvements
• Create innovative MICE business development approaches and work with industry stakeholders
• Promote and lead MICE Ambassador program
• Develop various incentive packages
• Develops new areas MICE business extension areas and opportunities
• Identify and assess new venue openings in Ethiopia, appropriate for international meetings, conferences and exhibitions
• Maintaining and create strong business relationships with external suppliers and clients
• Prepares international best practices of creating and strengthening MICE tourism enterprises and market linkages;

Required qualification and work experience:

• Qualification: Tourism Management, Tourism Development and management, Event organizing, Event management, Hospitality Management, Marketing.
• Work Experience: 4 years For BA Degree and 2 years for MA Degree.
