PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide strategic financial advice to assist MTA achieve its vision, mission, goals, objectives and activities
- Devise and implement financial management system with required policies, procedures, processes and forms to enable MTA to make efficient use of its resources and effectively attain its goals
- Draw up annual budget for MTA that reflect its strategic priorities and implement the same when approved and regularly report budget utilization updates
- Ensure that all taxes are settled timely and tax clearance is secured annually
- Ensure that VAT is reported and settled, and cash register machine maintained and renewed timely
- Develop key financial performance indicators or targets for attorneys individually and for MTA as an organization and integrate them in its annual plans
- Ensure that time sheets are properly recorded, documented and converted to invoices and follow up their payment.
- Ensure that procurement plans are prepared and executed within budget and in the most efficient way that maximizes value for money
- Communicate actively with clients on financial matters
- Develop, implement, modify, and document record keeping and accounting systems, making use of current computer technology.
- Provide Financial Document to external auditor and support by answering question during audit.
- Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information
- Manage the effective administration of MTA payrolls
- Perform such other related duties as may be assigned by MTA
Job Requirement
Education:
- First degree in accounting or finance from a reputable tertiary institution.
- Additional relevant academic qualifications will be considered
Experience:
- 8 years related work experience
- Service in a professional services office will be an advantage.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS
- Background in financial planning
- Experience in applying International Financial Report Standard (IFRS)
- Broad knowledge of computer systems, other operating, information systems and financial management tools, e.g. peach tree accounting
- Leadership and team-building experience
- Strong sense of responsibility, accountability and dependability
- Excellent relationship management skills
- Good problem solving and analytical skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral)
- Prior experience as finance manager or equivalent role within a professional service office will be an advantage.
