Position: Individual Consultant/ Project Manager
Location: Addis Ababa
Program: Improving COVID-19 Prevention, Preparedness and Case Management for Vulnerable Populations in Ethiopia project
Time Frame: 3 months
Scope of work:
The Consultant is responsible to oversee the routine implementation of “Improving COVID-19 Prevention, Preparedness and Case Management for Vulnerable Populations in Ethiopia” project. He/she is responsible for programmatic tasks such as ensuring alignment with project objectives and strategic objectives of the COVID-19 response with particular focus on timely delivery of project activities. Coordinate effective implementation of activities between central office and activities in the regions (Somali and Dire Dawa). Ensure compliance and higher level project support in collaboration with the Operations, Implementation, M&E Directors of Project HOPE-Ethiopia. Communications and coordination of activities with regional level focal persons and regional health bureaus. Project staff/consultants supervision and management. Implement other tasks and responsibilities assigned by the Country Representative or his designee.
The job holder will be responsible to review and standardize training materials and packages in collaboration with Project HOPE HQ, Federal Ministry of Health, EPHI and regional health bureaus. Plan and lead the implementation of training activities with regional health bureaus and target health facilities. Identify trainers, tools and required platforms to conduct the training packages. Conduct and oversee the training activities. Quality assurance and post training follow-up. Coordinate the implementation of ongoing case management support for COVID-19 cases in target health facilities and regions.
Job Requirements
- BSc in Public Health or MD is required and having a masters degree in public health is desirable
- More than 15 years of professional experience of which 5 years should be managerial level with staff management and program oversight role
- Experience in managing or implementing USAID or OFDA projects
- Demonstrated experience of implementing emergency public health programs
- Proficiency in MS and other computer applications
