Job Description
Job Summary
The job holder is responsible for maintaining the company’s database systems (currently MSSQL, IBM DB2 and Oracle) including backup, performance tuning, monitoring, capacity planning, critical events, and documentations. S/he leads Enterprise Software and Systems Strategy for the Bank by developing and implementing solutions for managing backups, restorations, recoveries and replications. S/he develops and changes the data management plan and models consistent with the needs/direction of the Bank. The jobholder coordinates the creation and implementation of the data management plans and models consistent with data integrity, security, application architecture and other important aspects.
Job Requirement
Qualification & Experience : BSc Degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering with a minimum of seven (7) years in Database administration three (3) of which should be in a senior/equivalent role preferably in the banking sector.
Skills and Certifications
- Sound Knowledge of RDBMS concepts, database architecture and SQL/T-SQL with proven expertise in disaster recovery, log shipping and mirroring.
- Knowledge and good understanding of Windows/Linux/AIX server operating systems, storage and networking technologies.
- Preferred Certifications: OCA/OCP orIBM certified Advanced Database Administrator (DB2) SQL Server Certifications.
