1.      JOB SUMMARY

Under the immediate supervision of the Programs Manager, the Outreach Team leader, facilitates the whole operational movement of the outreach team to ensure efficient and quality sexual and reproductive health service (SRH) provision route to clients in accordance with accepted standard medical practice and professional codes of conduct.

Responsible for the outreach team movement route, logistics, vehicle, and fuel availability, mobilization of clients in coordination with PSI and HEWs at each woreda and kebele. 

He/she is a responsible person to liaise with the government officials and other stakeholders in the intervention area representing MSI. The position holder will also support the clinical quality team for service quality by the outreach team.

Detail responsibility:

  • Ensuring that the annual outreach planning process is carried out and plans are updated, according to the policies and strategies of the organization. 
  • Prepare monthly movement plan for the outreach team in consultation with the PSI Smart Start team, government partners including woreda health officials and HEWs.
  • Coordinating the movement of outreach team as a contact person according to the monthly movement plan of the outreach team.
  • Facilitate the outreach team logistics including formats, working documents, vehicle, fuel, and other necessary supplies.
  • Support the quality and training officers to ensure high service quality by the outreach team.
  • Develop and enhance partnerships with community-based partners, gov’t, and PSI.
  • With the clinical officer, plan for training to public health providers based on need.
  • Supporting the development of strong local networks of relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensuring effective coordination skills and develop team spirit among colloquies.
  • Establishing a mechanism for ongoing monitoring and evaluation of the project
  • Carrying out stakeholder analysis, to identify key stakeholders within the selected community
  • Documenting and sharing good practices and lessons learned with colleagues to support organizational learning.

Quality Assurance Responsibilities

  • Analyze client feedback at facility or team level and present findings at the monthly team meeting
  • Report all incidents on time and share learning points
  • Ensure team members are competency assessed and at level 1 for the service they provide
  • Ensure team members adhere to the MSIE and National Clinical Policies & Guidelines
  • Follow and support teams on adherence to the record-keeping protocol
  • Conduct client record audit and submit report monthly
  • Conduct monthly team meeting and share reports
  • Identify the training need for the team and ensure timely training
  • Implement and follow recommended actions arising from clinical quality audit, incident management, and supportive supervision
  • Undertakes any other activities as required by the immediate supervisor and/or the clinical officer.

Job Requirements

Required Qualification and Experience:

  • Degree in Nursing/Public Health with a minimum of four to six years of relevant work experience.
  • Experienced in community mobilization and local level partnership.
  • Trained and experienced in family planning and other SRH services.

Required Skills, Attitudes and Attributes

  • Collaborative approach to team working, strong personal commitment, and good interpersonal/communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel more than 50% of the time and ready for hardship.
  • Ability to withstand pressures.
  • Conscious of Government and MSIE regulations
  • Someone who can speak the local language.
  • Ability to make logical and timely decisions
  • Counselling skill
  • Awareness of concepts and strategies of quality care.
  • Pro-choice
