Job Description

Under strategic management of the MSIE MCH Specialty Center Manager, the Gynecologist ensures efficient delivery of client / patient care; performs ANC, delivery, PNC voluntary surgical contraception (VSC), cesarean section and other procedures in accordance with accepted standard medical practices and professional code of conduct; works efficiently to increase client satisfaction and builds reputation of MSIE clinical services; ensure sustainability and financial feasibility of MSIE clinical services.

DUTIES/ TASKS

• Examines patients/clients in line with standard medical procedures using various types of diagnostic mechanisms;
• Administers and prescribes drugs based on analysis of examination, test reports and findings and counselling services;
• Performs ANC, delivery, PNC voluntary surgical contraception (VSC), cesarean section and other procedures;
• Puts the interest of clients / patients above all other considerations and ensures the confidentiality of all cases;
• Ensures the maintenance of a high level standard consistent with available resources;
• Prepares and submits reports, as deemed necessary;
• Make an on-time report for the clinical incident happened in the center as per the guideline of MSIE.
• Participants in training programmes, as and when deemed necessary;
• Initiates or collaborates in research undertakings;
• Provides specialist advice to the Center Co-coordinator on any possible action to insure quality care improvement from which the centre may benefit;
• Performs related tasks as required.

Qualification Requirements

Education

         MD and specialization in Gynecology

Experience

     Two years as Gynecologist

Skills, Attitudes and Attributes

• Proficient level in Competence scale
•  Awareness of MOH and donors guidelines
• Good appreciation of government, MSI and MSIE regulations
• Knowledge of the concepts and model of counselling
• Awareness of concepts and strategies of quality care.
• Pro-choice

Duty Station: MSIE Addis Ababa
