Under general supervision of the MSIE MCH Specialty Centre Manager, the Integrated Emergency Surgical Officer ensures efficient delivery of client / patient care in accordance with accepted standard medical practices and professional code of conduct with a view to achieving the following principal objectives; works efficiently to increase client satisfaction and build reputation of MSIE clinical services; ensure sustainability and financial feasibility of MSIE clinical services
DUTIES/TASKS
- Examines patients/clients in line with standard medical procedures using various types of diagnostic mechanisms.
- Administers and prescribes drugs based on analysis of examination, test reports and findings and counselling services.
- Performs ANC, delivery, PNC, voluntary surgical contraception (VSC), Post-partum family planning, Cervical Cancer Screening and preventive treatment, comprehensive abortion care including second trimester termination of pregnancy and caesarean section.
- Directs the completion of the format to be filled by a Clinician.
- Ensures the maintenance of a high level standard consistent with available resources.
- Prepares and submits reports, as deemed necessary.
- Make an on-time report for the clinical incident happened in the center as per the guideline of MSIE.
- Participates in training programmes, as and when deemed necessary.
- Initiates or collaborates in research undertakings.
- Gives advice to the Centre manager and other staffs on any possible action to ensure quality care from which the centre may benefit.
- Performs related tasks as required.

Qualification Requirements:
Education
Master in Emergency Surgery and obstetrics or MD with Gyn Specialization
Experience
Four years of relevant experience
Skills, Attitudes and Attributes
- Awareness of MOH and donors guidelines
- Conscious of government, MSI and MSIE regulations
- Awareness of concepts and strategies of quality care
- Attendance of MSIE Pre-service training
- Pro-choice
Duty Station: MSIE Addis Ababa
