Job Summary: - Under the general supervision of CE-Hawassa Manager and regular communication and reporting to the Lillian Foundation program officer in Addis ,the project officer will be responsible for planning, organizing, directing and coordinating the overall mobilization, identification, and assessment of youth with disability for community based (CBT) and TVET training and employment after training

Work Unit: Program coordination

Immediate Supervisor: CE-Hawassa Manager LF Program officer

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  •  Participate in mobilization, identification and assessment of youth with disabilities and market for community based skill training (CBT) and TVET training.
  • Establishes proper tracing and tracking system of youth trainees through utilizing assessment forms.
  • Arranges orientation and guidance for youth trainees selected jointly with ECDD
  •  Identifies youth trainees who need assistive devices and facilitate provision according to their need.
  • Conduct mapping, Identification and selection of community based skill training (CBT) providers/local crafts with ECDD employable project staff.
  • Facilitates community based training (CBT) for youths selected jointly with ECDD.
  •  Makes close supervision to youth with disabilities in training, self employment and wage employment and provide the required technical support.
  • Arrange Enterprise management training for CBT and TVET graduates
  • Arrange accounting keeping training for CBT and TVET enterprises
  • Arrange marketing training for CBT and TVET enterprises
  • Facilitate coaching and mentoring of CBT and TVET enterprises by successful business men in the project area
  • Facilitate experience sharing and learning visit to successful enterprises in Hawassa and Yirgalem
  • Facilitate fair trade/Bazaar for enterprises to the nearby town
  • Arrange monthly conversation session among CBT enterprises
  • Arrange workshop for learning and experience sharing event among CBT trainers and local business owners so as to take their social responsibility in training YWDs
  • Facilitate business and soft skills training for new CBT trainees
  • Link enterprises to existing business development
  • Strengthen existing enterprises with reasonable accommodation and material provision based on the need
  • Conduct community sensitization event in the three employable project areas
  • Facilitate Disability Inclusive Employment training for local government institutions in the CBT area
  • Facilitate capacity building training for government officials for the sustainability of the project
  • Work closely with ECDD, TVET institutions, employers, and government authorities for creating on job training, internships and employment opportunity for YWDs
  • Participates in experience sharing/ forum/ meetings of partners in the project area.
  • Participates in Cheshire Ethiopia ( CE) partners exposure visit to CBT and ECDD model TVETs
  • Update LF-program officer on implementation of the employable project on regular basis.
  • Follows up and monitor implementation of overall employable project activities based on the designed plan and make timely intervention on limitations that will be identified
  • Prepares quarterly narrative and financial performance report on the employable project and submit on time to the LF-program officer.
  •  Documents beneficiary information/ data, success stories and best practices.
  • Design project proposal and support CE –Hawassa project in other program activities
  • Undertakes other related activities as may be assigned by his immediate supervisor and LF-program Officer.

Job Requirements

Qualification: -        

  •  BA Degree in Social works, Sociology, project management or    related fields

Work Experience: -

  • 5 years and above in related fields
