Job Summary

• Under the general direction of the plant Manager, the production manager organizes, plans, directs, coordinates and controls the production and technical activities of the plant.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensures that raw materials, other production inputs and requirements for plant operation purposes are fulfilled adequately and in a timely manner;
• Ensures that production are carried out efficiently;
• Evaluates the performance of the various activities of the department and takes appropriate measures as necessary.
• Coordination with engineering manager for plant maintenance activities & quality control department for product quality.
• Coordinates with warehouse manager for release of material for daily consumption .Controls shifts managers for plant outputs during shifts, including packaging .
• Production reports for refining section & filling section on daily basis & compiling it for monthly reports.
• Organize, plan, direct, coordinate and control the activities of the production and technical function of the plant;
• Ensure that adequate raw materials, other production inputs, facilities are made available on time;
• Plan, procure and circulate the monthly requirement of packaging and raw material in consultation with warehouse manager
• Implement the strategic plan and support the Food Safety Management System of the company;
• Coordinate the planning and implementation of maintenance programs for machinery and equipment;
• Evaluate the performance of the production process and maintenance activities and take corrective measures to enhance efficiency;
• Ensure the optimal capacity utilization of production machinery;
• Ensure products produced meet the requirements of the customers, the Food Safety Management System of the company and other applicable standards;
• Develop and implement schemes to improve and enhance plant productivity;
• Develop and implements operational cost reduction schemes;
• Ensure procedures and instructions related to production and technical function are properly implemented.
• Direct worker’s skill upgrading programs;
• Direct the development and implementation of safety schemes for the plant and workers;
• Supervise and evaluate the performances of shift managers under the department;
• Prepare and submits periodic performance reports on daily & monthly basis;
• Management of by products & their quality.

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

• B.Sc in Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial engineering 

Experience:

• Minimum of 10 years; 2 of which in a senior position
