Amref Health Africa, headquartered in Kenya, is the largest Africa based international non-governmental organization (NGO) currently running programs in over 35 countries in Africa with lessons learnt over 60 years of engagement with governments, communities and partners to increase sustainable health access in Africa. Amref Health Africa also incorporates programme development, fundraising, partnership, advocacy, monitoring and evaluation, and has offices in Europe and North America as well as subsidiaries; Amref Flying Doctors, Amref Enterprises and the Amref International University. Amref Health Africa has been active in Ethiopia since the 1960s and became fully operational as an international NGO in 2002.
We are currently seeking a consultant firm to conduct Midterm Evaluation Research for it’s SDG WASH project.
Objectives of the survey
Improve social wellbeing of the intervention communities by providing sustainable improved and equitable WASH for all intervention areas
Scope of the study:
This evaluation will be conducted in 2 WASH SDG project intervention districts in Shashemene and Negele Arsiof Oromia Region. Selection of representative study areas will be the responsibility of the lead consultant based on statistically sound selection criteria.
Job Requirements
The potential consultancy firm is required to meet the following minimum requirements in order to qualify for the submission of proposal.
- At least Master’s Degree in public health, epidemiology, demography or related field and demonstrated experience in household data collection and qualitative data collections,
- A renewed professional license for consultancy in similar tasks,
- At least five years of experience in undertaking similar surveys of health projects.
- Good knowledge with demonstrated practical working experience or research,
- Experience of effective interaction with local non-government organizations, government departments, and international organizations,
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills in English,
- Evidence of similar work in the recent past will be a key requirement.
- Local Language skills of data collectors,
- Minimum75% of the evaluation team composition is expected to be part of data collection
