About the Ethiopian Red Cross Society
The Ethiopian Red Cross Society (ERCS) was established in 1935 and is one of the oldest and largest humanitarian organizations in Ethiopia. ERCS provides services to communities affected by natural and manmade disasters through the provision of emergency responses, ambulance and first aid, family reunification, essential drugs, water and sanitation, and other humanitarian services. ERCS also runs disaster risk reduction programs with the aim of creating resilience households and communities. Currently the ERCS has a structure consisting of 11 Regional Offices, 33 Zonal Branches and 131 District/Woreda Branches and 599 Woreda Red Cross Committees and 5871 Kebele Red Cross Committees.
Key Performance Areas
a) Driving / vehicle management:
- Drive project vehicle mainly in Addis Ababa following IFRC / ERCS security and safety regulations
- Ensure that the vehicle is always well maintained and fuelled up
- Follow up on mileage for appropriate service
- Take vehicle for inspections and repairs
- Ensure proper use of logbook, monitor fuel consumption
- Monitor and follow up on renewal of insurance for vehicles and annual inspection
b) Logistic / admin support:
- Support admin officer with travel and accommodation arrangements for visitors and project staff
- Carry out logistical support services, such as purchase and replenishing of office supplies, collection of offers etc
- Handle petty cash and proactively settle advances with the admin-finance officer
- Travel to project area or other locations, if requested by the line manager
- Promote and share ideas for improvement
- Any other related assignments as requested by line manager
Reporting to : - ERCS/GRC support - logistics
Terms of employment: Contract for one year

Qualifications and Experience:
- Higher institution Diploma and 3rd grade driving license
- Work experience, Proven record of minimum 5 years of related work experience
- Good basic calculation skills
- Good knowledge of English
- Work experience with an international team is an advantage
- Ability to change tires and basic technical understanding
