Job Description
To manage Accounting & reporting functions including: identifying trends and opportunities for improvement, provide up to date periodic financial reports that help top management taking timely and appropriate business decisions and train and develop team members for career succession planning.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Achieving deadlines for group and local accounting and reporting
Manages the preparation of monthly financial reports (income and loss statements, Balance sheets, cash flow statements in compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRSs) as per group reporting timelines.
Comply with monthly Group reporting requirements in terms of different operational and performance related reports to be prepared and compiled and submitted on timely manner.
Prepare annual financial statements audited by external auditor and ensure that audited statements are processed and reached to Company executive team and other external stakeholders as per local regulatory requirements and group reporting time lines.
Consistently liaising with external auditors for timely completion of the audit.
Ad hoc reports to management team from time to time on various areas to closely monitor them.
Proper Monitoring, Evaluation and Execution
Ensure control environment is maintained consistently and where process/control weakness is identified, corrective actions are taken promptly and reported as per group reporting guidelines.
Ensures that timely actions are taken with regards to observation of auditors.
Proper checks on payments made to the vendors with controls over cheque books.
Ensure timely payment vouchers are made to vendor/suppliers/service providers and the balances are reconciled periodically
Up to date Project Management
Ensuring all the AFCEs (Authorization for Capital Expenditure) are budgeted and approved as per the AFCE guidelines.
Periodic reports on utilization of approved AFCE for projects prepared as per Group Project Procedure Manual and consistently complied
Accuracy of Financial Data
Closely monitors and ensures accurate and up to date accounts and financial records are maintained based on Company financial policy and procedure and a standardized procedure.
Ensures that information on financial status of the Company is readily at hand whenever required
People Management
Motivate, direct, coach and develop a diverse, high performing team to meet established goals and build organizational capability.
Routinely train finance personnel on new efficient way of working.
Demonstrate behaviors needed for effective implementation of change.
Continuously assess the team capability and develop training plans and execute.
Prepare sub-ordinates KPIs and monitor their performance periodically.
Periodically conducts performance appraisal of subordinates and staff to identify performance gaps or outstanding performance and take appropriate action.
Attend to sub-ordinate grievances and take corrective action in a timely manner in coordination with HR.
Complied to EHS Requirements
Foster an environment that supports an engaged safety and quality culture.
Maintained a SAFE ZONE to employees by ensuring all hazards are identified, reported and removed.
Report all unsafe conditions, near misses and unsafe behaviors.
Reported all accidents and incidents.
Engaged with employees continuously through safety talk to create awareness
