Who we are:

Nutrition International (NI) formerly Micronutrient Initiative, is a Canadian based International Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) dedicated to delivery of proven nutrition interventions with a focus on mothers, children under 5 years and adolescents. The vision of NI is a world where everyone, everywhere is free from malnutrition and able to reach their full potential. Currently, Nutrition International is seeking applications for a high calibre and results oriented individual with integrity in the position of Senior Program Officer – Child Health and Nutrition (Lead and Regional Program Coordinator to be based in , Hawassa, SNNPR Ethiopia.

The role:

The successful candidate will be the technical lead for Child Survival program (Vitamin A supplementation, VAS and Zinc/ORS interventions) in Ethiopia and responsible for planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting of integrated regional programs for the SNNP Region.

Job Requirements

What we are looking for:

  • A master’s degree in Public Health, Reproductive Health, Community Health or Nursing/Midwifery. At least 10 years experience in maternal health, Midwifery, Public Health and/or related field in Ethiopia. At least 5 years experience in supervising Child Survival programs and in donor funded program.
  • Experience with micronutrient supplementation programs for expectant mothers is desirable.
  • Experience in budget/grant management and tracking and in advocacy and external relation management.
  • Training in epidemiology and research methodologies is preferred. Excellent communication and team working skills.
  • Good written and spoken English. Fluency in Amharic.
