Dereja is a pioneer in establishing Career Center services in Higher Education Institutions, organizing regional and national job fairs and design and deliver employability skills training for fresh graduates.

Job Summary

We are looking for a self-driven Intern to join our team. As an Intern, He/she will be responsible for helping a team to develop Technical requirement documents, identify Use cases and participate in front-end and back-end activities as well as testing and project tracking tasks.

 The intern is set to have the following duties and responsibilities.

• Participate in new projects.
• Assist on Research, define, communicate, document and plan technical and design requirements
• Assist to Develop functional and sustainable web, mobile and desktop applications with clean codes based on Research and requirement document developed.
• Assist on Building high-quality mock ups and design different prototypes with high-quality graphics and visual elements based on company brand guidelines.
• Assist on Changing mockups to markup languages and style sheets such as HTML, XML and CSS /SCSS to be integrated with the back-end.
• Assist on Conduct UI tests and optimize performance.
• Assist to Building reusable code and libraries for future use.
• Assist on Integration of user-facing elements developed by front-end developers with server-side logic.
• Assist on integration tests and optimize performance.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of designers, Front-end developers, and system administrators
• Assist on Optimization of the application for maximum speed and scalability
• Assist on Implementation of security and data protection
• Assist on Maintain a version controlling.
• Make suggestions for better solutions to problems.
• Be involved and participate in the overall application life cycle

Job Requirements

Desired Skills and Qualifications

• knowledge/experience in web markup, including HTML5, CSS3
• An Excellent understanding of server-side CSS pre-processing platforms, such as LESS and SCSS.
• some knowledge of front-end frame works like ReactJS, Vue.js.
• Good knowledge of back-end programming languages and frameworks (PHP, Python, Ruby, Java, .NET, JavaScript, etc, Codeigniter, laravel)
• Good knowledge of Web Services or API.
• Good Knowledge of Data Structure and algorithm.
• Good understanding of web mobile and desktop development
• Good understanding of web, software security principles
• Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them.
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git, Mercurial or SVN.
• Proficient understanding of team workspaces and task management tools like JIRA,, Confluence, Trello, ASANA
• Critical thinker and problem solver
• Time management skills
• Interpersonal and communications skills \
• Skills in Adobe suite, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and other related
• graphics design platforms will be a plus

Educational Background and Experience

• Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or other related fields
