Job Description
- Coaches and advises staff in solving problems and implementing resolutions for HR related challenges; provides guidance on corrective actions, HR policy interpretation, and other workplace challenges
- Develops effective relationships to promote positive employee relations across the organization.
- Provides advice for department managers on how to deal with employees, most of all in extraordinary situations
- Lead HR employee relation related program, such as Employee Engagement survey,
- Participates in and supports the documentation of investigations of workplace complaints and allegations such as discrimination, harassment, retaliation, hostile work environment, and policy violations.
- Prepares analysis and recommendations to drive action for stronger employee engagement and retention.
- Conducts exit interviews, analyzing trends or opportunities for feedback or improvement particularly in areas related to employee engagement.
- Manages relationships with external clients, vendors, partners, and consultants as needed.
- Consistently demonstrates and promotes UB’s performance competencies, with special emphasis on building trust and serving others.
- Monitors trends in employment practices and advises on appropriate proactive action.
- Remains current with Federal, State, and other HR related laws and regulations.
- Engages, collaborates, and partners with all levels of management to resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.
Job Requirements
- Ability to effectively solve problems and make decisions
- Excellent skills using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and HR systems
- Good interpersonal, written and oral communication skills for both English and local languages
- Ability to present information and bargain with employees and line managers from different levels
- Knowledge of effective office management practices and records management techniques.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work independently.
- High degree of confidentiality and diplomacy
- Ability to work at a fast pace and handling multi-tasks when necessary.
- Maintains a high level of professionalism in the resolution of employee issues
- Ability to work in teams and work under pressure
- Solid Research Skills
