Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to the following:

Payment verification and processing:

• Reviews payment requests for completeness; proper authorization; compliance to sub-grant management policies and procedures and reasonability of costs;   
• As assigned by the FC, assist with payment of payroll to locally hired staff and consultants.
• Prepares transfers to field offices and make payments to vendors as well stakeholders as necessary
• After getting the necessary approvals, prepare sub-grant advances to partners

Filling of Financial Documents and Reporting:

• Maintains proper filling of vouchers, ledgers, reports, and other records.
• Scan project financial documents for upload into the P4F financial reporting portal.
• Extract transactions from NAV (the accounting system) and chronologically file and upload in google drive for access by P4F team at HQ and Addis
• Establish a system for tracking sub-grantee expenses and liquidation schedules
• Reconcile reportable amounts with the relevant back up documents/supporting documents and upload them to substantiate/validate the costs incurred.
•   Periodically review sub-grantees financial records and verify all expenses submitted by partners through email are actually filed and documented at their office.

Financial Recording/Posting:

•  Classifies and codes financial transactions by account ID, geography, ARC, task code, responsibility center and other sub-analysis codes.
•  Prepares Journal Vouchers to correct and/or adjust/update accounting records.
• Records/Posts Cash Receipts, Check payments, and JVs in to NAV as necessary.

Other related duties:

• Undertakes other related works as instructed by Financial Controller.

Job Requirements

BA Degree in Accounting 3-5 years of experience in accounting, preferably with an international organization.

Sound knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles

• Good skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
• Good command in English (written/spoken).
