On behalf of our client, Boston Partners PLC / Kuriftu Resorts, we are looking for a successful candidate to fill the position of Office Engineer.

Location: Addis Ababa

Career Level: Junior Level (2-3 years’ experience)

Employment Type: Permanent

Required No.: 2

Salary: 5,000-7,000

Job brief

The Office Engineer provides a broad spectrum of technical and administrative duties primarily in support of Planning site analyses, concept designs, project definition development, and presentations.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Schedule, document planning, and engineering activities with consultant teams, operations, facilities maintenance, and others.
  • •Assist Engineer in preparing, distributing, and collecting review comments on documents such as planning and engineering studies, reports, and presentations.
  • Use software and equipment to prepare and revise technical documents.
  • Read and interpret plans.
  • Review documents for adherence to standards.
  • Prepare project justification and funding documents.
  • Assist with reports, maps, schedules, estimates, data collection, documents, and agreements as needed.
  • Complete other responsibilities and assist as assigned to support the project such as: attend and document project meetings (write minutes), perform expediting functions and prepare and maintain expediting, etc.

Requirements

BSC in Civil Engineering or construction management

2-3 years of relevant experience in building construction engineering and management

  • Ability to communicate progress to both technical- and management-level personnel
  • Capability to assume additional responsibilities
  • Demonstrated time management skills and workload prioritization
  • Proven accuracy, reliability, and completeness in job accomplishment
  • Demonstrated success on the job, as evidenced by satisfactory performance, acceptance of responsibility, and growth in the previous position
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, with an ability to communicate complex issues to a non-technical audience
