Job Description

Background

The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia Ministry of Finance formulating economic cooperation policies and strategies, lead and coordinate bilateral and multilateral economic cooperation, and manage partnerships with international and regional organizations. It has the essential role to mobilize, consolidate and blend financial resources from to sustainably finance national development priorities.

As Ethiopia undergoes through an ambitious reform to sustain the socio-economic progress Ethiopia has registered in the past decade and ensure the provision of equitable opportunities to citizens by addressing key macro-economic, structural, sectoral challenges, the ministry requires to establish short and longer-term institutional capacity to deliver the multi-sectoral role it plays in the reform process.

The Ministry of Finance is now looking to recruit young professionals who will go through rigorous training to become junior experts in the following directorates. 

Bilateral Cooperation Directorate – 4 positions 

UN Nation agencies, Climate Change Facility & Regional Economic Cooperation Directorate -2 positions 

EU National Authorizing Directorate – 2 positions 

Ethio-China Development Co-operation Directorate – 1 position 

International Financial Institutions Directorate – 1 Position

Education and qualification 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in economics, development policy, governance, the management or related field, and below 24 months of professional experience in research and analysis
  • A Grade Point Average of 3.0 or above for men and 2.75 or above for female
  • Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills   
  • Genuine intellectual curiosity and desire to innovate and bring large-scale change
  • Strong desire to learn, highly coachable and values frequent constructive feedback
  • Fluent in English and Amharic, with strong written and oral communication skills.
