Company: Ethiopian Statistical Association (ESA)

The Ethiopian Statistical Association in collaboration with the Central Statistical Agency of Ethiopia and Addis Ababa City Government, Bureau of Labor and Social Affairs has been conducting a survey entitled “Establishing labor Market Information System in Addis Ababa” (ELMISAA 2020). The general objective of ELMISAA 2020 is to carry out a comprehensive project that effectively deals with challenges, root causes, opportunities, resource constraints, and mitigation measures of labor market information system in the Addis Ababa city government taking into account existing study results, views of stakeholders, and legal and institutional framework.

Position: Data Collector

  • Required Number: 30
  • Term of Employment: Contract for 45 working days
  • Place of work: Addis Ababa
  • Payment: According to the organization’s scale

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Should attend all training given by the organizing team

2. Responsible to check the data quality during and after data collection

3. Responsible to maintain data confidentiality

4. Responsible to review the necessary documents during data collection at the office level

5. Responsible to accomplish the assigned task.

6. Accurately record on the data collection form all required information that will be pertinent to the valuation of the property.

7. Follow the guidelines of the data collection manual and guidelines

8. Anticipate unusual situations and make quick and responsible decisions.

9. Develop awareness of quality and production requirements and maximize efforts to meet or exceed requirements on a daily and weekly basis.

10. Submit on a timely basis, accurate production and corresponding reports, such as timesheets, expense reports, and other prescribed office documents.

11. Good interpersonal communication

Job Requirement

Minimum Qualification: BSc in Statistics.

Experience: At least two years’ experience in data collection and have experience in labor market surveys.
