POSITIONSUMMARY: to help students over come problems that impede learning and to assist them in making educational occupation and life plans that hold promise for their personal fulfillments mature and responsible men and women.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/ABILITIES OF THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

• The counselor’s primary function will be to provide individual, group and family counseling in accordance with the minimum generic standards of school manual and ethical standards that apply to counselors.
• Help each student and his/her parents become aware of the curriculum alternatives open to the student and the basic work and life skill goals to which they lead.
• Participate in parent conferences pertaining to academic, attendance or behavioral concerns;
• Help students make appropriate choices of school programs and develop long range plans of study. Obtain and disseminate work skill and vocational information to students and parents.
• Help the student cope constructively with the demands of the educational environment and attain satisfaction from his/her chosen curriculum activities;
• Work with students on individual basis in the solution of personal problems related with home, peer relations, school performance, health and emotional development.
• Participating in health education program(s),work with staff to assess student needs
• .Refer students for assessment when appropriate.
• Performing any other tasks assigned by the Supervisor.

CERTIFICATIONREQUIRED:1st degree in psychology from a known and legal college/university.2 years &above experience in a school setting(well–known school)
