REPORTS TO: Department Head/Principal
POSITION SUMMARY:PIA is seeking a teacher with passion for educating children, a commitment to closing achievement gaps, and an ability to maximize learning for all students.
PIA invites applications from knowledgeable and innovative professionals who are experienced in modern teaching and learning approach and understand the range of academic, social, and emotional needs students. Ideal candidates will have proven trackr ecord in providing strong instructional leadership focused on student centered learning.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/ABILITIES OF THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
- Planning, preparing, and delivering lessons to arrange of classes including putting up displays in the classroom; Marking work, giving appropriate feed back and maintaining records of pupils’ progress and development;
- Researching new topic areas, maintaining up-to-date subject knowledge and then devising and writing new curriculum materials;
- Selecting and using arrange of different learning resources and equipment;
- Preparing pupils for qualifications including external examinations and administering and invigilating them, including national exams;
- Managing pupil behavior in the classroom and school premises, and applying appropriate and effective measures in shaping behavior;
- Supervising and supporting the work of teaching assistants, trainee teachers and newly qualified teachers.
- Participating in and organizing extracurricular activities, such as outing, social activities and sporting events; Initiating activities that stimulate the students’ creativity during play, free classes, practices, experiments, projects etc.
- Participating in departmental meetings, parent-teacher conferences and whole school training events;
- Under going regular observations and participating in regular in-service training as part of Continuing Professional Development(CPD);
- Performing another tasks assigned by the Supervisor.
CERTIFICATIONREQUIRED:1st degree in Physics from a known and legal college/university. PGDT degree is
mandatory.2 years & above experience in a school setting(well–known school)
