The Carter Center is a not-for-profit international NGO committed to waging peace, fighting disease and building hope worldwide. The Carter Center country office in Ethiopia, which assists the Government of Ethiopia in Disease Elimination and Eradication Programs is looking for a qualified professional to fill the following vacancy for its Health Program.

Summary Job Description:  

  • Manage all staff contracts and ensures all staff documentations are properly filed
  • Ensures set-up and maintenance of all HR filing systems, both manual and computerized, adhering to confidentiality at all times
  • Submit and follow up with staff medical insurance claims
  • Track staff leave
  • Keep proper documentation and registration of incoming & outgoing letters
  • Assist staff in the proper arrangement of the office and documents/items
  • Assist program staff in the preparation for meetings and trainings
  • Perform any other activities assigned by supervisor

Terms of Employment: One year contract with a possibility of extension.

Reports to: Regional Project Manager 

Required Number: 1 (One)

Job Requirements

Qualification and Experience:      

  • BA degree in Human Resource Management or related fields from a recognized university.
  • Relevant experience of minimum five years in Human Resource Administration and Management. NGO experience is preferable. 

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to work in team and demonstrate good interpersonal communication skills
  • Prior work experience in Gambella Region
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft office and HR Software  
  • Able to speak local Languages is advantageous 
  • Willingness to travel and work in remote areas for field work
  • Recommendation letter from the most recent employer
  • Able to present release letter from current employer in two weeks after job offer
