The Former Swedish Community School Parents Charitable Organization (FSCSPCO) is a registered charitable organization established by the Swedish Community School (SCS) parents in 2019. The SCS was established in 1946 by the Swedish Embassy, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The FSCSPCO has taken over SCS from the Swedish Embassy in July 2019 and assured the continuation of the school’s operation while running other charitable activities, as well. Our organization is an independent not-for-profit organization and is interested in hiring professionals for the following position listed below to start their duties as soon as possible.

ROLE PURPOSE: 

The Project Coordinator (PC) will be responsible for the overall managing and coordination of projects FSCSPCO implement. S/he will be responsible for providing technical support and capacity building for project implementation. The PM will also be responsible for the overall project design, implementation as well as monitoring and evaluation of projects. S/he is responsible for running projects, operations, and proper use of sponsorship funds. Within her/his capacity the PC will work closely with the FSCSPCO team to meet all project-related objectives and deliverables. The PC ensures that resources are focused on reaching strategic objectives, managing projects, meeting sponsor expectations and adhering to all internal and external standards. S/he is responsible to develop project annual plan, project annual report, project self-assessments and collaborate with relevant project sector offices.

S/he provides support in project compliance, operational, communication and administrative across project activities. S/he ensures that project operations adhere to the FDRE Agency for Civil Society Organizations Policies and Procedures and regulations. S/he is responsible for proactively monitoring systems and processes to provide corrective measures. 

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

  • Prepare all the required documentations including Annual Plan, operational plan (POP) and reports.
  • Confirm that programs & projects are led by a clear strategic vision, mission and objectives congruent with the overall Strategy Plan of FSCSPCO.
  • Ensure that systems are in place to monitor beneficiary’s eligibility and participation in sponsorship-funded programs. 
  • Liaison and work actively with all the concerned government and private entities.
  • Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of goals.
  • Design and apply appropriate project management standards for projects.  
  • Manage the implementation of the required deliverables. 
  • Actively manage monthly meetings and provide briefings both on developments and issues as necessary.
  •  Develop and maintain annual plans and circulate to all.
  •  Manage the team and assure the implementation of tasks.
  • Analyze the collected data and submit credible reports 
  •  Prepare performance periodic reports.
  •  Oversee all projects and follow up with deliverables. 

Reports to: General Manager

Terms of Employment: Two-year contract with possibility of extension

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • BA/MA degree in Management, Project Management, and or other related fields with 5 years and above work experience in project management field preferably in education and youth development sectors;
  • Strong communication skills, with excellent written and spoken Amharic & English;
  • Experience in managing investment and development related projects;
  • Strong knowledge of organization, planning, and problem-solving skills;
  • Working knowledge of federal, state and local regulations;
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office, Excel, Outlook, and other relevant software;
  • Experience of establishing strong working relationships with colleagues; and
  • Commitment to FSCSPCO values;
