The Ayuda en Acción Foundation is an international organization working in development and humanitarian work. Ayuda en Acción Ethiopia is registered as foreign Charity organization in Ethiopia and working in partnership with multiple development actors, government sectors, communities and their organizations to eradicate poverty. Our primary task is to promote improvements in the individual and collective capacities of the children, families and communities with whom we work.

Ayuda en Acción is seeking experienced candidates for the position of Innovation Project Officer to implement the project in Moyale, Guchi and Wachile Woredas of Borena Zone Oromia National Regional State. The project is Innovation based project responding to the humanitarian and long term development needs and priorities of the Woredas and the respective communities working with a focus to build resilient livelihoods through Index based Livestock Insurance with market linkages.

Position Description:

The successful candidates will report to Projects/program Manager of Borena and provide the overall project implementation and reporting. Specific responsibilities include:

• Report to Ayuda en Accion Borena Projects/program manager.
• Establish partnerships and relationship with respective partners, government sectors, Private Stakeholders and community based organizations with in Borena Zone of different project Woredas.
• Implement, monitor and report the 2 years Innovation project plans and annual operation plans for the realization of Index Based Livestock Insurance project/ Program.
• Supports the Borena project/program manager in directly designing, implementing and monitoring and the project component managed by local implementing partners.
• Properly manage the project/Program resources (human, financial and material) as per the direction from the project/program manager, country office and donor requirement.
• Understand and assure the implementation of any system security and safety procedures, protect the completeness, accuracy and integrity of accounting data and information based on AeA policies, procedures, donor regulations, and the law of the land.
• Document all processes, achievements, learning and challenges of the project to the Ayuda en Accion knowledge-base.
• Documenting and reporting as per the AeA policies, procedures, donor regulations, and the law of the land.

Offer Terms

• Immediate incorporation and full working day,
• Two years contract with probation period indicated in the law of Ethiopia and with possibility of extension.
• Duty station: Moyale with traveling to communities and villages in Moyale and nearby Woredas (Guchi and Wachile).
• Remuneration according to the salary policy of Ayuda en Acción

Job Requirements

Required Skills & Experience:

• Minimum of Bachelor's degree in agriculture, animal husbandry, agribusiness, natural resources development or development studies, marketing, disaster and risk management, sociology, social work, social anthropology, community mobilization and management,
• A minimum of 4 years work experience in long and short term projects/programs development and management, promoting Innovativeness, creativity and productivity, DRR and humanitarian programs development and management, natural resources management, market linkage, project proposal writing, partnership/relationship development, human, financial and material resources management, M&E, documentation and reporting in reputable institution/s preferably in the NGO sector.
• Good knowledge of development and humanitarian interventions, innovations, creativity and research in Ethiopia.
• Practical application of participatory development approaches, research, market linkage and tools.
• Good knowledge and experience of implementing and reporting donor-funded development projects/programs,
• Ability to understand innovations, risks, mitigation means, documentation and reporting.
• Good communication skills, computer skills, report writing good written and spoken English and meeting deadlines.
• Able to communicate the respective local languages and know the community culture.

Other requirements:

• Readiness to move and travel to Woredas, rural communities, villages and to the zone.
• To have good behavior and attitude.
