Background
Oxfam GB is a UK based International Humanitarian and Development Organization working in Ethiopia since the 1960s. We help people build better lives for themselves. We speak out on the big issues that keep people poor, like inequality, discrimination against women, and climate change. And we won’t stop until every person on the planet can live without poverty. Oxfam advances gender justice by promoting feminist principles and a transformative approach that directly addresses the underlying causes of women’s marginalization and vulnerability to bring about fundamental changes in systems – including decision-making, knowledge, food, and energy systems so that they are gender just. Accordingly, Oxfam in Ethiopia is implementing a four years project called ‘Strengthening Networks for Greater Impact-STITCH’, which is a regional project funded by European Union and jointly implemented by Oxfam, FEMNET (The African Women's Development and Communication Network), and local partners. This initiative is being implemented in 7 countries in Africa namely: Kenya, Mali, and Tunisia DRC, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Mauritius with 13 local partners across these countries. The initiative seeks to strengthen the institutional and operational capacities of women network organizations for coordinated actions at global, regional, and national levels. Specifically, the initiative will: Support FEMNET members in 7 countries on policy advocacy, campaigning, networking, and information sharing.
