IRC has been working in Ethiopia since 1999 and is implementing integrated, community-managed programs aimed at improving the quality of lives and recover of livelihood of disaster-affected population’s through promoting individual participation, strengthening institutions and emergency response.
Job Title: Finance Assistant
Duty Station: Adama, Oromia (with frequent field travel)
Salary: as per IRC pay scale
Job Overview:
Finance Assistant is mainly responsible for cash and bank payment processing, payment release, finance documents recording & filling, and preparation of the monthly report. The Finance Assistant will also handles all cash payments and collections outside the office and recording the cash account on a daily basis. The position holder will directly report to Finance Officer and will be based in Adama field office with frequent travel to field sites.
Job Requirements
Education: BA Degree/Diploma in Accounting, Business Administration, Commerce or Finance.
Work Experience: minimum relevant work experience of 2 years for Diploma holders and 0 year for BA Degree holders.
- Good experience of computerized accounting systems, email usage, & Microsoft Office.
- Good communication skills that function across a diversity of cultures.
- Ability to multi-task & carry out responsibilities independently with minimal technical support.
- Good command of spoken and written English, Amharic and Afaan Oromo.
- Strong sense of personal integrity and attention to detail.
- Team spirit and problem solving abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and travel to field sites frequently.
- Willingness to work extra hours in emergencies.
