Job Description

Samaritan’s Purse is looking for energetic and motivated Store Keeper. The role of the stock keeper is to ensure effective stock management of the program materials, assets and inventory within the limits of the stock/ warehouse. The stock keeper is accountable for compliance with the stock management system and procedures.

Job Requirements

Key Responsibilities 

  • Ensure SP project materials, assets and resources are maintained in good condition at all times, and all necessary paperwork’s are in order and updated.
  • Ensure that SP’s stock and inventory register is updated regularly and managed according to SP Guideline
  • Maintain and update stock cards for all the items in the storage rooms and in SP warehouses.
  • Assist Logistics Officer in the maintenance of the organization’s premises in YirgaChefe , as well as the procurement of any material/equipment related to them
  • Management of the IN & Out Process in the base storage resources; and receive final distribution list from projects and properly document with the warehouse documents.
  • Responsible for overall compliance with the stock management procedures.
  • Assist in preparing Stock Requests (based on program supplies needs as designed in the weekly plan) and issuing stock issue forms.
  •  Assist in preparation and updating of stock management report on daily basis.
  • Oversee repair and maintenance of office/ field assets, equipment is and machines periodically. Proper maintenance schedules / records should be kept and made available with ease
  • Maintain GRN, receipts, records, and withdrawals of the stock with clear sock room arrangement and various record cards and register books.
  • Inspect deliveries for damage or discrepancies; report those to accounting for reimbursements and record keeping
  • Ensure adequate record keeping and manage all documentation to confirm proper stock levels and maintain inventory control
  • Coordinate the handling of freight, the movement of equipment, and necessary minor repairs
  • Ensure all the specifications and proper functioning the delivered items with Technical responsible focal person involved.
  • Ensure the proper arrangements of stock with clear stock cards and bin cards with the right naming and category
  • Ensure proper closing inventory, fixed assets and other resources are done on time and reported regularly 

Other:

  • Ensure transparency and accountability in all assigned tasks including ensuring appropriate documentation and clear filing system.
  • Upon officer’s request, assist in collecting quotations for the procurement of material, equipment or services in Yerga Chefe.
  • Substitute for the Logistics assistant during leave and travel allocations.
  • Perform any other duties that maybe assigned by supervisor

Education / Experience Needed

Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study

2 Years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in a Store Keeper field.

 Skills Required 

  • Ability to coordinate activities with other agencies, build and maintain positive working relationships.
  • Analyzed material identification, handling, inventory management, warehousing, packaging, and transportation.
  • Knowledge of proper bookkeeping and inventory management, Familiarity with standard concepts and best practices in a stockroom or warehouse environment
  • Analytical mind with ability to make accurate mathematical computations
  • Keen attention to detail and ability to effectively manage timeExcellent written and verbal communication skills

REASONING ABILITY 

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagram, or schedule form.
