ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Typical Responsibilities - Key end Results of the Position:*

  • Build, maintain and strengthen relationships and linkages with local authorities, communities, NGOs, UN and other key stakeholders in the area of Emergency Shelter Response Projects.
  • Actively participate on the sub national coordination and cluster meeting  
  • Conduct regular field visits to project sites to verify quality/progress of Emergency project activities interventions
  • Provide capacity building training on hygiene promotion and shelter construction models to project beneficiaries
  • Assist established IDP returnees committees on successful quality construction of Emergency shelter
  • Gather and collect relevant data for socio-economic monitoring and studies for future scaling up of the project in the program area
  • Guarantee timely development and implementation of monthly and quarterly work plans and budgets;
  • Distribute inputs to project beneficiaries and maintain accurate records of the same; in collaboration with the immediate supervisor
  • Proactively participate in baseline and end line data collection.
  • Establish and maintain a good rapport with project beneficiaries, as well as local government officials, community leaders and relevant local organizations;
  • Harmonize the implementation of Project activities for IDPs and host communities ensuring good collaboration and networking with other partners operating in the woreda
  • Provide quality reports timely and have a proper documentation
  • Conduct selection of beneficiaries in close collaboration with Shelter /CASH /NFI assistant and beneficiary selection committee.
  • Conduct assessments and stakeholder analysis

DEALING WITH PROBLEMS:

The incumbent should have higher degree of problem analysis for both external and internal environments in order to propose viable solution which is in line with the organizational rules and regulations.

COMMUNICATIONS AND WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:

The incumbent should have high degree of communication skills in order to deal with the partners and stakeholders relevant for the smooth implementation of activities 

JOB REQUIREMENT

  • Educational Qualification and Experience
  • BSc Degree in Engineering any other related fields Minimum of 2 years’ relevant professional experience for Degree holders
  • Experience in designing or managing programs aimed at increasing cooperation in resource use between groups with a history of violent conflict area
  • Experience in engineering design ,construction and supervision of construction
  • Experience working on emergency programe or related interventions for conflict and disaster induced areas.

SKILLS SPECIFIC TO THE POST

  • Commitment to the vision and mission of ZOA Relief to Recovery;
  • Excellent understanding of local context preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to meet strict deadlines and work independently and cooperatively with team members in a cross-cultural environment
  • Computer literacy skills with standard business software (including Word, Excel and Power Point
  • Good Communications Skill both English and local language
  • Leadership Attitudes & Behaviors
  • The incumbent should possess higher degree of integrity and able to lead a team in a disciplined manner
