Company Profile 

Pagumen is register by the Ethiopian Investment Agency as Tour Operator. It is established by more than 1300 shareholders spread all over the world including Ethiopian in the diaspora. Its aim is to address the missing link in the conventional tour and travel operation in Ethiopia. 

Pagumen aims to unleash Ethiopia’s potential for sustainable and inclusive tourism development and then promote Ethiopia’s history, culture, nature, hospitality to the world.

 The company will provide diverse, full of choices, unique and customized to customers’ peculiar needs and conditions. Pagumen provides a “one window integrated service” for all needs of services and products in the tourism sector. It provides tour operations (inbound outbound & domestic), Ticketing (IATA registered), MICE including event, car rental services with own modern all range cars and many more. It also engages in import of hand crafts, Souvenir articles and jewelries; export of paper products and materials; export of Crafts and Souvenir goods; Retail trade of precious materials and Souvenir goods.

Currently the company Open a new souvenir shop at “Sheger Park”

General Duties and Responsibilities

 The sales associate will receive the goods, record it, display on the shelf; assist customers in selecting the goods, sale to customers, record the sales; register the sales, prepare and issue receipt for customers, collect cash, deposit the cash to the Company account; prepare daily sales and report to Head office.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities (but not limited to)

  • Serves customers by helping them select products.
  • Drives sales through engagement of customers, suggestive selling, and sharing product knowledge.
  • Greets and receives customers in a welcoming manner.
  • Responds to customers ‘questions.
  • Directs customers by escorting them to racks and counters.
  • Perform cashier duties by handling cash, credit and check payments
  • Attach pricing labels to items before placing them on shelves
  • Ensure that stock items are replenished with new items continuously
  •  Receive goods for resale with Goods receiving note  and make sure that all items are stored, stacked properly and recorded on Bin card designed for the purpose
  •  Keep a complete track of number and type of sales performed each day both by value and Quantity and report to HO daily, weekly and monthly
  •  Ensure that any price changes put on items immediately
  • All sales have to be made as per the price decision of HO sent to the shop in writing
  • Opens & closes cash transactions on daily basis.
  • Keeps records of collections daily.
  • Establishes and maintains cash controls and also prepares cash related reports daily to HO
  • Prepare and deduct all Government levied taxes from each transaction and prepare a separate report.
  • Manage transactions with customers using cash registers
  • Collect payments whether in cash
  • Issue receipts, refunds, change using the receipts pad prepared by the company with printed serial number
  • Deposit all cash receipts daily to the company bank account and report the next morning 
  • Maintain all cash in safe box until it is deposited to the company Bank account
  • No payment will be made from collection
  • Performs other similar duties as and when assigned by immediate supervisor.

Salary:  as per the Company’s Scale

Job Requirements

 Qualifications

Education-Bachelor of Art Degree/ TVET Level IV or College Diploma  in Marketing and Sales or Accounting or Management or Business Management or Economics or related fields

Experience--: Two /Four years of experience in Sales associate and similar positions
