Description

The manager will be in charge of the processing and manufacturing of multi grain snack products at the factory. The manager is responsible in overseeing the day-to-day operations at the plant to ensure optimal product quality, production output and maximum return on investment that is expected from the production line. The Manager engages in planning, Coordination and controlling functions related to the respective production unit. The Manager is responsible for deploying & utilizing both human & material resources to effectively & efficiently manage the manufacturing process and delivers outputs in accordance with quality, time and cost requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the production process, drawing up annual and quarterly production schedules; designing systems for efficiency, control and effectiveness.
  • Ensuring that the production is cost effective and is in-line with Quality Parameters; ensuring that health and safety guidelines are followed
  • Making sure all necessary raw materials with the required quality be available on time and as per the plan.
  • Working out the human and material resources needed and collaborating with other departments to allocate requirements.
  • Developing & maintaining Standard Operating Procedures, processes, preventive maintenance, and policies designed to manage the production process while ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Setting quality and overall performance standards; monitoring adherence to established standards through production staff.
  • Estimating costs and improving waste margins; analyzing costs of each product/process and planning the means by which margins can be optimized.
  • Monitoring sales fore costs, raw material availability & actual production and adjusting production schedules as needed.
  • Requesting capital assets, machinery, equipment and spare parts for plant.
  • Collaborating with other departments in the designing and/or developing of new products. Working with subordinates to implement the Company’s policies and plans, supervising, motivating & coaching plant workers.
  • Conduct surveys to identify clients’ needs and adjust accordingly to ensure those needs are met.
  • Conducting performance evaluations for plant staff; working with HR department to develop training, development, incentive & reward programs.
  • Reporting to the COO on the overall operations of the plant and advocating on behalf of the Plant to secure tangible & intangible assets for the plant.
  • Interviewing, selecting & training plant staff.
  • Improving, integrating & providing feedback on process and/or people management models applied in respective plant and developing the staff’s capability to internalize and execute various practices in that regard.
  • Identifying training needs, conducting and/or facilitating various training programs for production staff.

Job Requirements

Basic Qualifications& Attributes

  • Degree in Food Technologies, Experience of at least 5 years preferably in a busy food manufacturing environment in managerial position.
  • Knowledge of and experience of new product development preferably in biscuits and snacks.
  • Knowledge about the food machineries
  • Good interpersonal relationship skills
  • Ability to handle diverse challenges and cope with difficult manufacturing environment
  • A team player, keen on details and results oriented
  • Good communication and analytical skills
