Purpose
The overall responsibility of the project coordinator is to coordinate and manage the performance of all project officers assigned in different locations against the objectives of the We are Able project. Besides, he/she is also responsible to ensure that smooth coordination and collaboration is maintained with other consortium partners for the multiple efforts expected to deliver in the project areas. He/she is also responsible to manage the coordination and collaboration works with local government, institutions, associations on PWD and other different stakeholders in the intervention areas.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITY AND DUTIES:
Project Management
- Ensure that the Detail Implementation Plan (DIP) is prepared and implemented accordingly in the project areas
- Ensure that budget breakdown for each project activities is done by the project officers and compiled documents exist in the office for follow up on implementation
- Conduct project monitoring visits to the project sites and provide technical supports to the project staff
- Ensure that staff have prepared their weekly and monthly work plan and templates are also shared for this purpose
- Participate in the review meetings that will be conducted as a consortium at zonal and country office level
- Ensure that the staff at Zonal and wereda level are coordinating with other consortium partners
- Different workshops/forums and reviewing meetings among different stakeholders and partners are well facilitated, managed and reported
- Assess the situation of targeted people with disability regarding how they have been impacted by the project for documentation and further improvements on implementation
- Produce different guidelines as required to support different project activities for quality delivery
- Coordinate with Finance and Admin officer for different payments to effect for different project activities at site
- Ensure Budget management has been done periodically (Planning, implementation, revision & reporting)
- Hold and ensure the implementation of project activities in three woredas (Harar, Gursum, Bisidimo & Babile) as the officers will not be assigned there
- Provide technical supports as required to the government officials, associations on disability inclusion programing
- Produce different training materials on disability inclusion as required
- Participate in the project proposal development as required for further expansion in the area
Reporting/Documentations/M&E
- Produce periodical reports of the project (monthly, quarterly and annually) and ensure its timely submission as per the deadlines to the office
- Review the activity reports from each project officer periodically
- Ensure that reporting templates are shared among the staff ahead of reporting time
- Ensure different minutes/proceedings on different workshops/trainings and meetings are well documented in the office at all levels
- Different IEC/BCC, Audio/video documentary materials are well documented in the office and distributions have been done timely to different sites on promotion/awareness raising on disability inclusion
- Different manuals, guidelines, policies and strategies related to disability inclusion is in place for regular reference and applications
- Conduct field visits to provide technical supports to the staff
- Participate in a joint monitoring programs with other consortium partners
Staff management
- Manage staff performance appraisals timely as per the ZOA HR manual
- Ensure that staff coaching is frequently done as per the time frame
- Work to create team works/sprit among the project staff for successful project achievements
- Prepare staff development plan in collaboration with the field office coordinator
Coordination with partners
- Create smooth relationship with other partner staff for further program integration and collaboration
- Work together with partner staff to have review meetings, planning and exchange of expertise on the project implementation
- Provide technical support to consortium partner staff as required on field of specialization to support on quality program deliveries
Job Requirements
Education/qualification:
- BA or Master’s degree in Social science fields; Social work, psychology, social psychology, social anthropology, social science, project management, development studies & etc
Experience:
- Five years’ experience for BA holders and 3 years’ experience for MA holders
- Proven experience working on disability inclusion programs
- Experience working on consortium projects is advantageous
- Experience on project management and related assignments
Required skills
- Basic Computer skills
- Fluency in English & Amharic languages (speaking and writing,) ability on other local language (Oromifa) is advantageous
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
