Job Summary

As a Cost Auditor you will be responsible to provide an effective auditing system for the activities of the Materials Department, F&B Division and Rooms Division. Provide a summary of costs which is required by the Finance division to prepare monthly reports.

And also you will be in charge to provide the Chief Accountant/ Financial Controller with necessary financial information to assist in effectively managing profit centers and monitoring data input to the operating system by operating level personnel.    

Main Duties:-

• Ensure that all documents received are processed in a timely manner, along with review of the Daily Receiving Report on a daily basis.
• Ensure that all documents are reconciled with the Daily Receiving Report, any open item is highlighted to the Materials Department of the respective hotel with a copy to the Financial Controller.
• Co-ordinate with the Materials Department of Hotel to ensure that all queries are resolved in a timely manner.
• Ensure all Invoices are posted in accordance with the comments on the Purchase Request, any discrepancy or deviation needs to be highlighted, query raised and resolved within a timely manner
• Assist in ensuring that a structured process of filing document is designed to ensure prompt retrieval and processing of documents. 
• Based on the designed Documentation Management System maintain all documentation in comprehensive and meticulous filing system on a daily basis.
• Maintain cordial relations with all “customers”, both internal and external; however ensures that all the agreed procedures and terms are adhered. 
• Ensure that the guidelines prescribed in the Accounts Payable & Procurement Operations Manual are adhered to. In case of any exception or deviation, all action need to be taken based on approval of the Financial Controller; but be proactive in identifying any improvements which may be desirable. If any changes are desired, refer these to the Management Accountant for consideration, and if s/he agrees, request changes to the Financial Controller.
• Audit the activities of the procurement department, kitchens, outlets and stores.
• Support the preparation of financial information for daily and monthly reports related to cost of sales.
• Support the preparation of financial information on requisitions from general store, food store and beverage stored.
• Check the data entry from the procurement department, receiving section and store employees.
• Audit inventory transactions and make authorized adjustments. 
• Audit and supervise stores and storage and advise required par stocks.
• Maintain records of inventory transactions and test their accuracy and its authorization. 
• Support the accuracy of recipes for the purpose of potential costing and inventory control. 
•  Evaluate purchases and deliveries for price, quality and yield.
• Produce a potential cost for the purpose of inventory control. 
•  Carry out spot checks in all outlets, kitchen and stores for spoilage and wastage.
•  Spot-check non-occupied rooms or vacant dirty rooms for minibar usage and refilling.
•  Conduct market survey of different items to ensure that the prices paid by the hotel are below the market retail prices.
• Spot check periodically internal purchase orders for Food & Beverage items against their appropriate market lists. 
• Spot check the expiry dates on store items.
• Carries out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Job Requirements

Certificate or qualification:- Degree or Diploma in Finance and/or Accounting with 2-4 years work experience as a Cost Auditor in a hotel or a similar large organization or accounting firm is essential. Knowledge of Birch Street (BSS) software is desirable.
