Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

Under the direct supervision of the Coffee Quality Control Manager the officer will be in charge of:-

• Operate the Arfasa General Trading PLC cupping laboratory in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia;
• Controlling the coffee quality both in laboratory and coffee processing sites;
• Manage the out growing scheme;
• Give trainings for out growers;
• Hosting cupping together, promoting coffee and convincing the buyers;
• Support Arfasa General Trading PLC improve coffee quality through cupping and giving feedback to clients;
• Support Arfasa General Trading PLC to train and partners in cupping Duties and Responsibilities;
• Help gather coffee samples from clients and other sources;
• Organize and manage inventory of all coffee samples;
• Prepare samples for cupping (hulling, roasting, weighing, grinding, etc.) on daily basis;
• Keep laboratory and cupping supplies clean and ready for use;
• Prepare cupping reports in consultation with Arfasa General Trading PLC coffee quality control staffs;
• Facilitate cupping trainings with Arfasa General Trading PLC staff;
• Facilitate other cupping trainings to stakeholders and partners;
• Perform other duties as assigned by the General Manager, coffee control manager and export manager.

Job Requirements

Skills and Qualifications:-

• B.SC. in plant science, food science or related fields,
• Having Q. grade certificate essential.
• Ability to plan, coordinate and monitor quality control operations
• Written and oral communication skill is mandatory
• Willing and ability to travel to coffee processing and washing stations

Experience:-

• Minimum of three years’ experience and above in coffee quality control,
