Job Description
Job Summary
COOPI Ethiopia is seeking for a qualified and competent Accountant to be based in Addis Ababa with 30 % to 40% field mission and reporting to the finance manager.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise office petty cash is kept to an appropriate authorized limit and make timely replenishment
- Undertake monthly salary payment to staff and remit taxes and pension to the concerned authorities
- Ensure full documentation before effecting any payment;
- Conduct regular cash count with cashier
- Timely follow the financial documents sent from project , check and give feedback to field offices regularly
- Keep every project financial documents in chart of account order and prepare for donor / government Audit.
- Support finance team in preparation of financial statement and trial balance draft
- Support finance team during audits and financial reporting to donors and partners
Duration of the contract: 12 months with possibility of extension
Duty starting date: as soon as Possible
Job Requirements
Qualification and Experience
- BA or Diploma in Accounting and management or related fields
- A minimum of two years of relevant working experience with International NGOs or private sector in a similar position
- Fluency in English and Amharic
- Proven capacity to work in a team is essential.
- Experience in liaising with governmental/local authorities, IOs and NGOs.
- Demonstrated ability to work in stressful environments and under pressure.
- Computer literate, with excellent command of Microsoft Excel.
