SNV is a not-for-profit international development organization. SNV, Netherlands Development Organization, is operating in Ethiopia since the 1970s. Currently, SNV Ethiopia is working in eight regional states and the two city administrations of Ethiopia, providing technical assistance and program implementation in Agriculture, WASH, and Energy Sectors. SNV is an open and learning organization that focuses on improving the lives of Ethiopian through a market based approach inclusive of women and youth. In its new Strategic Plan period (2019 – 2022), SNV will more explicitly aim for systems change including strengthening institutions and kick-starting markets that help many more to escape poverty beyond our projects. The Innovations Against Poverty 2 (IAP 2) challenge fund was established by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) in 2016 with the aim to stimulate the private sector (in the forms of entrepreneurs) to focus their efforts, innovative ability and resources to develop and invest in products, systems and services so they are able to bring about changes to improve the lives of people living in poverty. The intended outcome is to (1) improve growth opportunities and access to markets for inclusive businesses and entrepreneurs and (2) improve delivery of goods and services beneficial for the Base of the Pyramid at scale. 

Consultancy Objective

The audit will be conducted on total of 100,342 Euro fund disbursements made by SNV IAP in 2020 for four companies within the IAP 2 project in Ethiopia. Out of the four, three are located here in Addis Ababa while one is located in Bahir Dar. Further details of the companies and assignment can be given with specific request from applicants. 

Job Requirements

The selected audit firm is expected to meet the following minimum criteria:

• Must be an internationally certified and registered audit firm to operate in Ethiopia,
• Have a wide knowledge and at least three years experiences of policies and procedures covering, tax, accounting and financial management

Qualified audit firms who are interested in this opportunity are invited to apply by submitting a technical and financial proposal. Both the technical and financial proposals should be in a separate sealed and stamped envelope by writing the name of the specific assignment. 2% withholding tax will be deducted from the consultant fees at the source and will be paid by SNV – Ethiopia, assuming a TIN number and license can be provided.
