Job Summary

Position: Assistant Researcher– biotech & bioinformatics Directorate

The Armauer Hansen Research Institute (AHRI) was founded in 1970 through the initiative of the Norwegian and Swedish Save the Children organizations seconded by the Ministry of Health of Ethiopia. The Institute got its name from the Norwegian physician, Gerhard Henrik Armauer Hansen, who first described the leprosy bacillus (Mycobacterium leprae). AHRI is a biomedical research institute that works in developing tools for prevention, control and treatment of mycobacterium and other diseases of public healthy importance through applied and basic biomedical research and training.

AHRI would like to hire qualified candidate in the position of Assistant Researcher working as Administrative assistant under biotech & bioinformatics Directorate

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Involve in planning and reporting
  • Involve in monitoring and evaluation
  • Coordinate and follow procurements
  • Follow and settle grants and financial matters
  • Archive letters/communications and documents
  • Participate in relevant research project
  • Perform administrative and coordination activities
  • Assist laboratory staff at the sample collection site with the execution of the project
  •  Work under specific instructions to assist with routine tests, experiments, and procedures
  • Keep record of all project related documents in organized way
  • Perform review and analysis of special projects and keep the management properly informed
  • Organize and schedule meetings and appointments
  • Organize office operations and procedures
  • Coordinate office staff activities to ensure maximum efficiency
  • Evaluate and manage staff performance

Other duties

  • Manage specific project and/or field activities might be required
  • Perform laboratory or field activities as might be assigned
  • Represent the directorate on admin related issues

Job Requirements

Education:

  • MSc, MPH Degree in public health, monitoring and evaluation, project management background in Biomedical fields is advantage OR
  • BSc, Degree in HO, public health, monitoring and evaluation, project management background in Biomedical fields is advantage AND 2 years of experience preferably in research and/or project management

Specialized Skills

  • BSC planning and reporting skill
  • Government planning ladder
  • HSTP
  • Monitoring and evaluation

Employment Type: Permanent employment basis.

Salary: 9056.00 /nine thousand and fifty six birr/ conditioned to the current JEG payment mode

2,500.00 /house Allowance per month/

250.00 /mobile card allowance per month/

250.00 / (EVDO) internet allowance per month/
