Edomias International PLC is a Human Resources outsourcing and recruitment firm serving clients for more than 15 years. Edomias is currently looking to recruit the following candidates:

Job Title:  Local Purchaser

Immediate Supervisor: Head, Procurement Division

Department/Service :          

Division: Procurement 

Basic Functions /Scope

Under general supervision, undertakes local purchases of goods and services in accordance with set specifications, at minimum cost and consistent with quality standards and delivery requirements; ensures the proper maintenance of documents; follows up all purchase processes up to delivery; assists supervisor in handling and managing local purchase.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists supervisor in handling and managing all corporate local purchases;
  • Examines local purchase requests and their specifications delivered by functional units; secures purchase approval from supervisor;
  • Undertakes all essential activities involved to ensure the timely purchase and delivery of goods and services;
  • Compiles complete and accurate details of supplies and services to be procured form the local market;
  • Collects proforma invoices from suppliers or prepares bid documents in accordance with the purchase procedures of the company;
  • Purchases supplies, materials and equipment based on specifications provided and approved purchase orders;
  • Delivers on time all purchased items to store against proper documents;
  • Ensures that receiving reports are obtained from store for all purchased items;
  • Handles correspondence and communication with suppliers to facilitate local purchase;
  • Settles on time all purchase advances;
  • Collects and compiles local market information on prices of commodities and services;
  • Ensures the maintenance of purchase documents;
  • Ensures that all local purchases are effected at low cost consistent with quality standards and delivery requirements;
  • Prepares and submits periodic reports;
  • Performs other related duties as required

Required Qualification

Education

  • BA or College (10+3/12+2) Diploma in Purchasing or Supplies Management

Experience

  • 2/4 years of relevant experience

Additional Skills

  • 2nd Grade driving license
