Job Description
The Child Protection Coordinator, under direct supervision of Field Operation Manager with technical lead of CPiE specialist, is responsible for overall delivery and management Tigray response Child Protection programme, to be implemented under Tigray region for the conflict crisis.
The overall aim of the Child Protection Coordinator will be to assess, design and guide staff to initiate interventions to address violations of children’s rights to protection from abuse, exploitation, violence and neglect and psycho social distress due to impact of the conflict. The Child Protection Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that quality programmes are initiated and capacities developed to provide protection to children based on Save the Children’s emergency responses minimum standards. The Child Protection Coordinator will be expected to lead on sectoral assessment, project planning, coordination, and support fundraising, recruitment and procurement, usually at a regional or sub-national level. In most circumstances, the post holder will be expected to mentor and/or capacity build existing programme staff and partners’ staff as well.
The position holder will work in close partnership and coordination with CP stakeholders, sub cluster coordination BOWYCA, sectors and other local government stakeholders within the targeted locations.
The position holder is also expected to work very closely with the FO’s and CPiE Specialist.
