Job Summery

The National Election Board of Ethiopia (NEBE), re-established by proclamation No. 1133/2019, is the constitutionally mandated body to conduct elections, organize referendum and regulate political parties in Ethiopia. NEBE is undergoing institutional reform to enhance its credibility and capacity and conduct free, impartial, and credible elections. Through the support of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), NEBE has contracted ABH Partners to provide human resource recruitment and management services.

Accordingly, ABH partners would like to invite applicants who meet the below requirements to apply for the position of Administrative Assistant. She/he is expected to provide office administrative support to the NEBE Board Members office.

Required number: (2) Two

Reports to: Respective Board Member 

Duty station: NEBE Head Quarter, Addis Ababa

Duration: 12 months with a possibility of extension

Salary: Attractive (Non Civil Service Scale)

Expected Start Date: Immediately after obtaining the contract

 Major Responsibilities

  • Greet, direct and provide relevant information to NEBE visitors;
  • Receive and handle requests or queries from representatives that come to the NEBE;
  • Maintains calendars, schedules and coordinate appointments;
  • Receives and transmit calls to dedicated departments;
  • Provide logistics for events, such as conferences, workshops, seminars, luncheons and meetings organized by the NEBE;
  • Support the preparation and assembly of briefing materials for events, as needed;
  • Develop a good working relationship with relevant departments within the NEBE to better liaise on events or activities that bring departments together;

Organize a user friendly and easily accessible filing systems;

Monitor changes within NEBE’s work or operations plan and communicate them to departments accordingly;

Support the preparation, publication and dissemination of information materials to responsible department; 

  • Provide secretarial services for immediate supervisors;
  • Assist in procurement of equipment, supplies and services in a transparent way;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Business Administration, Secretarial and Clerical science, and Management or related fields.
  • 3 years of experience working in a similar position required.
  • Proficiency in Word, Power point, Outlook and Excel.
  • Ability to establish, maintain and foster positive and harmonious working relationships.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to remain highly organized while handling multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrate initiative, good judgment, and resourcefulness.
  • Willingness to adhere to all principles of confidentiality.
  • Ability to conduct the work with integrity and good ethics.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Fluency in Amharic is required and good command in English.
