Job Summery

The National Election Board of Ethiopia (NEBE), re-established by proclamation No. 1133/2019, is the constitutionally mandated body to conduct elections, organize referendum and regulate political parties in Ethiopia. NEBE is undergoing institutional reform to enhance its credibility and capacity and conduct free, impartial, and credible elections. Through the support of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), NEBE has contracted ABH Partners to provide human resource recruitment and management services.

Accordingly, ABH partners would like to invite applicants who meet the below requirements to apply for the position of Security Manager.  

She/he is responsible for ensuring that security threats to personnel, assets, and business operations/activities within NEBE and in addition, provides leadership and oversight on effective execution of security management systems and solutions.

Required number: One

Reports to: The CEO

Duty station: NEBE Head Quarter, Addis Ababa

Duration: 12 months with a possibility of extension

Salary:  Attractive (Non Civil Service Scale)

Expected Start Date: Immediately after obtaining the contract

Major Responsibilities

• Responsible for coordination of immediate incident response, escalation and immediate reporting to the responsible department at NEBE;
• Ensure safety and security of employees whilst on Company premises and during travel;
• Support various investigations on detected and reported breaches of security and security incidents;
• Ensure security induction and briefing of all new joiners’ staffs or visitors on in country security issues;
• Ensure visitor access and vehicle control systems are effective and appropriate for the threat environment;

·        Provide security, safety and risk mitigation and ensure that project staff complies with project security procedures;

• Leads the security team and make sure all security employees are doing assigned work properly;
• Verify that all security devices such as locks, alarms, access systems and physical force protection measures are operational or reported for repair;
• Be able to assist with out-of-hours emergency response at the project, if needed;
• Performs other duties as required.

Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree or Diploma; at least 6 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Experience with in security operation management, forces background I an added advantage.

• Excellent interpersonal skills and integrity above reproach;
• Proven leadership and people management skills;
• Be flexible to work time changes;
• No Criminal Record;
• Sound investigations and report writing skills;
• High attentions to detail;
• Fluency in Amharic required and good command in English.
