Ethiopian Center for Disability and Development (ECDD) is an Ethiopian Development Organization established in 2005 and reregistered at Agency for Civil Society Organizations as Ethiopian Development Organization with Certificate no. 0321 under the Proc. No. 1113/2019. ECDD is working with other organizations to promote and facilitate the inclusion of persons with disabilities and disability issues in mainstream service delivery and development programs envisioning an Inclusive Ethiopia where persons with disabilities exercise the same rights and have access to the same services and opportunities enjoyed by other citizens.
ECDD is presently implementing a project funded by the David and Lucile Packard Foundationwith the goal to promote SRH rights of persons with disabilities. Under this project, ECDD has planned to modify ALERT hospital in Addis Ababa to make physically accessible for Adolescents and Youth with disabilities. Therefore, ECDD is now seeking a consultancy firm/individual to carry out the architectural design, prepare a bill of quantities and specification, and to supervise the modifications at these sites.
Objective
The objective of the physical accessibility modification design is:
- to identify places and wards for physical accessibility modification and make a modification design
- to estimate the price of each construction under the design
Desired Service
- Carryout the architectural design of the stated hospitalwhich involves the building of ramps along with rails, modification of the center’s toilet, patient journey directions and pathways accessible). The design will include service wards such as maternity ward, card room, emergency ward, outpatient wards, inpatient ward, eye treatment ward, MDR ward, ICU,pharmacy, rehabilitation ward and other health service wards and the ways in between the wards.
- The bill of quantities should be given for each ward and building including the toilets in the wards.
- The design will include the detail drawing of the work along with the specific dimensions and prices.
- Conduct sanitary design (as it involves the removal of the Turkish WC and replacement with seat able WC with proper drainage and water supply).
- Accomplish the detail specifications and bill of quantity.
- Supervise 25%, 50% and 100% of the work while the winning contractor builds the modifications as per the design and the price offered and request of ECDD.
- Approve and write a report to ECDD on the completion of the construction by winning contractor
- Submit the price and design of service Ward independently
