Soufflet has started its operation in Ethiopia in 2017 is commissioning its malt factory in Addis Ababa while actively working on local malt barley sourcing.

To perform quality analysis for barely and malt Soufflet is looking to hire its Lab Chemist. 

Core Mission :

The Lab Chemist is responsible for analysis of incoming barley and malt as per the standard set by the company. He/She is also responsible for keeping all parameters set for raw materials and final products. In addition to this the incumbent is also responsible to perform water and waste water analysis as per company and national standards and parameters.

Major Responsabilités :

• Conduct quality analysis for barely malt in and out of the factory
• Ensure proper documentations of laboratory, work instructions and reporting of laboratory related .
• Perform Malt Sample Preparation and Analysis
• Report and follow up on any variance of Malt Spécifications (Variety, Shipment )
• Review Quality Check Samples to make sure lab is compliant
• Perform daily tasks basis Laboratory Protocols set by the company
• Utilize laboratory equipment properly. Keep their cleanness, functionality and proper maintenance when needed.
• Assist in  external laboratory tests for malt, barley, water, wastewater and interpret and report the results;
• Assist in safety, environment, and health initiatives of the company
• Perform water and wastewater analysis of the factory
• Actively participate in all QMS initiatives and tasks. Suggest an improved way of lab management.
• Liaison with Production, Agronomy and Silo departments in all the tests and analysis to be made.

Job Requirements

Qualification: 

• MSC or BSC Degree in Applied Chemistry or related fields

Experience and knowledge

• Above 4 Years of experience in FMCG industry.
• First experience in the food and beverage industry required
•  Experience in quality analysis and laboratory analysis;
• Knowledge of HACCP, 5S and other recent quality and safety systems are a plus.
