Brief introduction

REACH Ethiopia is a nonprofit organization established and registered as an Ethiopian Residents Charity, with the mission to contribute to community development through innovative community based approaches. Currently REACH Ethiopia is implementing health program activities; the USAID funded Urban TB LON project in 3 largest cities in the country; Addis Ababa, Harar and Dire Dawa and USAID Eliminate TB project sub-awarded to REACH Ethiopia by Management Sciences for Health Inc., (MSH) in two region; (Sidama, and SNNP) to facilitate local capacity building in implementation of community level interventions and ensure the journey to self-reliance in collaboration with Ministry of Health Ethiopia. Previously, REACH Ethiopia successfully implemented the community-based TB care (CBTBC) interventions and integrated health service projects in Sidama, SNNP and parts of Oromia Regions.

Purpose of the position (general)

Under direct supervision of the Admin and Finance Manager, the Finance Coordinator/Admin & Finance Officer will be responsible for the financial management of grants. The position is mainly expected to coordinate HQ finance section, project implementation support, report preparation, budget monitoring, verifying field and Addis expenditures against donor restriction and compliances. 

Major and overall Duties and Responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team. He will prepare financial statements, verify financial records and transactions, analyze cash flow, review budgets and forecasts and develop paperwork for regulatory reporting. Our ultimate candidate has at least eight years of accounting experience with a track record for providing accurate and efficient work.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Accounting or Business Administration, minimum of six-years relevant work experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, finance, business or related field minimum of eight years relevant experience in supervisory and coordination role
• Demonstrated experience in the financial management of at least four years;
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA), more preferred
• Proficient with Mircosoft Office Suite and accounting softwares
• Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting and cost control principles and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Advanced knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices, laws, standards, and state/national regulations
• Excellent communication skills
