Position: Technical Advisor I, Food & Nutrition

Duty Station: Mekelle

Job Summary

As a technical lead for UNICEF -RRM Health and Nutrition objectives, you will facilitate the achievement of project objectives through coordinating and reporting on the project activities and providing technical guidance and advice to staff and implementing partner(s) advancing Catholic Relief Services’ (CRS) work serving the poor and vulnerable. Your coordination and relationship management skills will ensure that the project for which you are responsible applies best practices and constantly works towards improving the impact of its benefits to those we serve.

Education and Experience

  • Completion 2nd Degree (Public Health) or 1st Degree (Public health or B.Sc. Nurse).
  • 3 years for 2nd Degree or 5 years for 1st Degree
  • Experience working with national or international NGOs.
  • Knowledge of technical principles and concepts in Health and Nutrition. General knowledge of other related disciplines to ensure proper cross-sectoral approach.
  • Experience working with partners, participatory action planning and community engagement.
  • Experience and skills in networking and relations with donors, peer organizations, and faith-based and civil society partners. Understanding of partnership principles
  • Staff supervision experience a plus.
  • Experience monitoring projects and collecting relevant data.
  • Experience using MS Windows and MS Office packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Personal Skills

  • Analysis and problem-solving skills with ability to make sound judgment.
  • Good relationship management skills and the ability to work closely with local partners.
  • Proactive, results-oriented, and service-oriented
  • Attention to details, accuracy, and timeliness in executing assigned responsibilities!
