Job Summery

• Data Center and Core Systems engineer is responsible for setting up and ensuring that equipment run efficiently at data centers. To manage data center operations in such a way that operations are optimal, in terms of stability (minimum down-time), adhering to SLAs, cost effectiveness, security and ensuring business operations’ uptime is maximized.
• The jobholder provides the daily and after office hours operation in support of the Data Center and ensure that Data Center is operates accordance with established policies and procedures.

Job Requirements

Academic & Professional Qualification

• BSc degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Information System, Electrical and Computer Engineering or any other equivalent field.
• MSc degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Information System, Software Engineering or any other equivalent field is an added advantage.
• Relevant professional qualifications and certifications on UNIX, storage and SAN, virtualization technology is an added advantage.
• Networking knowledge is an added advantage.

Experience

• At least six (6) years’ post qualification experience in a similar role

Required Technical Competency

• Significant knowledge and experience across a broad spectrum of Servers, storage's, data center technologies and services.
• Detailed and extensive experience of designing and executing disaster recovery plans for data centers.
• An overall understanding of the business objectives of Service Lines and Core Business Services departments.
• Excellent understanding of multi-disciplinary nature of IT solutions.
• Experience with regulatory compliance issues, as well best practices in data management.
