Job Summary

The Regional Team Manager is responsible for ensuring the smooth implementation of the project according to the work plan through active oversight and trouble shooting of both program field activities as well as administrative and financial matters. The Regional Team Coordinator reports to the Deputy Director in Addis Ababa.

Specific Functions and Responsibilities

  • Design of, supports and overseas implementation of activities at the regional level to include quality improvement, CMNH/IYCN training and community-mobilization strategies, as well as BCC focusing on improving health nutrition.
  • Participates in yearly & quarterly planning and regular monitoring of project activities including budgets for his/her region developing/facilitating strategies for RHB, BOFED, MNHN/IYCN capacity building and other related activities in the region;
  • Establish and maintain successful relationships with regional partners and stakeholders
  • Works closely with other staff and key stakeholders in regional planning and in the development of project strategic frameworks, annual work plans, and detailed implementation plans.
  • ensure the proper organization and implementation of project activities; monthly monitoring and timely collection, compilation and write-up of project reports monthly, quarterly, bi-annually and yearly
  • Coordinate and facilitate review meeting, joint supportive supervision as well as providing onsite coaching and mentoring for the frontline worker teams.

Job Requirement

  • Specialist in Public health (MPH), MSc in nursing and/or other related field and cross training in MNCH and Nutrition
  • Minimum 4 years for Master’s degree, and 7 years of experience for BSc degree in directly related work experience, particularly health or other related fields
  • Prior experience and involvement in health and nutrition needs assessments and survey;
  • Experience in organizing and conducting trainings, supportive supervision and community mobilization
  • Good communication skill (both verbal and written) in English and local language; Knowledge of local language, culture and norms of the region is advantageous
  • Computer skill: MS Word, Excel, power point and Internet; and Internet;
  • Knowledge and experience of working in the project woredas is an advantage

Level of Travel:  with frequent travel to project sites with in the assigned region,

Duty station:  Afar and Benishangul Gumuz regional office
