First Consult is a consulting firm in Ethiopia specializing in delivering effective and business-oriented solutions for development, business, strategy, human resources, finance and investment problems and needs of its clients.

In addition to Business Development Services, transaction advisory, development consulting and investment services, First Consult offers training and capacity building to organisations and individuals on various professional skill areas. Key themes of professional development include financial planning, business plan writing, proposal writing, time management, communications, personal development, decision making, human resource development and project management.

First Consult is currently seeking to hire an IT System Administrator.

The System Administrator will be responsible to ensure a smooth operation of the office IT system, connectivity and all IT equipment in the office.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

·       Manage servers, install and upgrade computer components and software on client computers and integrate automation processes

·       Provide helpdesk support to all staff, making sure all computer applications, workstations, access points, printers and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions

·       Troubleshoot hardware and software issues by running diagnostics, documenting problems and solutions, prioritizing problems

·       Check regular backup operations are automated and implement necessary processes for data protection and disaster recovery

·       Administer the company website and occasionaly update its content

·       Prepare technical documnentaion, manuals, IT policies and step-by-step guides for staff

Job Requirements

Qualifications/Skills:

• BSc degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or similar, or equivalent experience required
• At least 3 years experience in system administration or network administration
• Strong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols
• Basic website development skills
• Excellent problem solving skills and resourcefulness
• Strong communication skills
• Determination for continuous skill development
• System administration and professional IT and networking certifications are a plus
