Purpose of the position:

Assist the Chief driller/Driller in a drilling crew being an assistant driller, collect lithologic data, check regularly fuel and lubricants of all engines and supervise the proper setting of the drilling tools./Driller

Major Responsibilities

• Check regularly fuel and lubricants of all engines on the drilling machine and compressor;
• Assist the chief driller in the planning of mobilization and demobilization of machinery and equipment;
• Collect and label lithologic data and other relevant information during drilling activities.
• Perform /supervise the proper setting of the drilling tools, i.e. check and ensure that all tools and accessories are in place
• Drive one of field trucks and/or assist crew in vehicle operation and other duties as required
• Assist the chief driller/driller in the preparation of lists of required drilling supplies for annual and periodic consumption;
• Represent chief driller in his absence;

Job Requirements

Qualifications:    Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience

• Qualification required: Diploma (10+2) and/or 10+1, 10+2, 10+3 or 10+4 TVET in auto-electricity, auto-mechanics, General mechanics, woodwork, metal work, construction technology,
• Technical Training qualifications required: Auto electricity and auto-mechanics, general mechanics, woodwork, metal work, and construction technology.
• Experience: experiences in drilling at least one (1) year; experienced driller with Grade 4 Driving License preferred.
• Preferred: Diploma (10+2), 10+3, 10+4, and more relevant experience and educational level.
• COC requirement: COC certificate required, if available. Other: NGO experience is preferred.

Working Environment / Conditions:

• Work environment: Frequent travel to the field for drilling.
• Travel: 100% Domestic.
