Purpose of the position:

To undertake quality and professional works on the study, design and development of ground water. Coordinate drilling operations; prepare well designs, contract document and BOQ for the contract. Major Responsibilities:

• Verify/engage in groundwater resource assessments and detail investigation, which is supported by geophysical survey in partnership with ROs/CPOs, APs and respective government offices
• Ensure that borehole-drilling works are underway in compliance with community needs, donor’s requirements, WV and government policies and national standards.
• Coordinate and prepare annual drilling operations and verification plan in consultation with CPOs and RPMs
• Review groundwater development project study documents and provide well design modification whenever required.
• Prepare contract document, well design and BOQ for out-source drilling works.
• Prepare technical manuals that provide guidance to the field staff.
• Prepare detail material specification of drilling supplies, drill tools and pumping test supplies for procurement
• Take part in planning, facilitating and conducting trainings on WASH related programs to COPs, APs staff and other stakeholders.
• Promote major cross cutting themes including environment, gender, child protection, disability and peace building

Job Requirements

Minimum education, training and experience requirements to qualify for the position:

• M.Sc in Hydrogeology with 6 yrs experience in the study and design of groundwater sources, and water well drilling supervision
• B.Sc in Geology/Applied Geology with 8 yrs experience in the study and design groundwater sources, and water well drilling supervision

 Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

• Experience in well site selection using conventional hydrogeological method
• Experience in conducting geophysical investigation (Vertical electrical sounding) for groundwater source assessment
• Very good computer skill and groundwater application software like GIS, Global mapper, resist and others,

Working Environment / Conditions:

Travel: 50% Domestic travel is required
